Why private lessons VS self study methods

There is no question that the self study guitar instruction materials available today can be very helpful and very effective. Any time invested in the guitar is beneficial. With the technology available today the learning curve can be a lot faster than in the past.

With that said, there are some areas that a DVD or a computer program simply cannot address. Each and every aspiring guitarist is an individual and each has special interest and talent. A good guitar instructor will access each student's needs and provide material and advice to suit his or her abilities.  That is why I will try and take the extra step to make learning the guitar fun and an enjoyable experience.

How long will it take me to achieve my goals?

It is all dependent on how much time you have to invest. If the instrument were easy everybody would play one. Time and practice are the keys to playing the guitar. At times you may be frustrated with a certain song or difficult chord.  This is true at any skill level. The key is to stay positive and to keep trying.  Private lessons with an experienced guitarist can help alleviate some of the frustration associated with learning the guitar.
